Join a historical interpreter for a guided hike highlighting the wilderness adventures of Pierre Bottineau. Pioneer, scout, hunter and all-around legend of Minnesota’s Northwest Territory, Pierre Bottineau lived off the land. He made himself famous by marketing his wilderness skills and founding towns, leading expeditions and traveling hundreds of miles on foot in the winter to deliver messages and transport people. Through this guided program, try your hand at skills Pierre Bottineau used every day, like firebuilding, navigation and foraging. Afterward, explore Bottineau’s restored home – built four years before Minnesota became a state! Reservations required by 24 hours prior.
Everyone attending this program must register and pay. Participants ages 11 years and younger must be accompanied by a registered adult.
20% discount for groups of four or more.
