PARTICIPATION ELIGIBILITY:
Only players between the ages of Six (6) and thirteen (13) years old on the day of the Tournament may participate in the Tournament provided that each player has a parent or legal guardian fill out and sign a Tournament Consent and Release form prior to the player’s participation in such Tournament.
A player may not participate in a Tournament if he or she is prohibited by federal, state, or local laws, the rules of the Tournament Organizer, or by a venue’s management; or specifically prohibited from participation by The Maple Grove Beyblade Organization.
PLAYER CONDUCT:
Players are responsible for:
Behaving in a respectful and polite manner toward Tournament Officials, other Tournament participants,
and spectators, and refraining from unsporting conduct at all times.
Complying with announced start times.
Calling attention to any rules infraction they notice in their Battles.
Being familiar with these Official Rules.
Being physically present for the Tournament.
TOURNAMENT EQUIPMENT:
Players are responsible for providing their own BEYBLADE BURST BEYS and launcher(s) to participate in a Tournament provided that their BEYS and launcher(s) comply with the following requirements:
Only BEYBLADE BURST BEYS are eligible for tournament play – any BEYS that do not disassemble or burst are prohibited.
All parts and launchers must be good working condition (no broken parts permitted).
All BEYS will be inspected for illegal modifications – use of an illegally moded Bey will result in disqualification.
If parts or accessories are found to be broken, worn out, painted or purposely modified to change their original function or if a Referee determines that such parts or accessories are dangerous to use in the Tournament, such parts or accessories must be replaced by the player prior to participation in the Tournament.
Replacement parts and accessories are the sole responsibility of a player. Failure to replace may result in disqualification from the Tournament.
All BEYS must consist of the following three parts:
A layer (including all required GT Chips and Weights, Sparking Chips, or DB/Quad Drive Cores and Armors)
A forge disk (may include a disk frame) or chassis.
A performance tip/driver.
Electric drivers/performance tips (Hybrid and Ignition) are not be allowed for tournament play.
All other BURST BEYS and parts are allowed for tournament play (including Hasbro Pro Series and Takara Tomy).
BEYS must be fully assembled prior to the start of a match. Unless instructed by a Tournament Referee, players will not be allowed to disassemble or customize their BEYS once the Tournament commences.
All spin changing BEYS (Spriggan/Spryzen and Diabolos/Devolos) must be locked into a spin direction (left or right spin) during battle (no changing spin directions once the match begins)
All Dynamite/Quad Drive BEYS must be locked into a “mode” (low mode or high mode) during battle (no mode changes once the match begins)
All other mode change beys (such as Hell/Heat Salamander, and Sparking BEYS) must be locked into a mode (defense, attack, counter, etc.) during battle (no mode changes once the match begins)
Performance tip/driver mode changes are allowed between battles
A maximum of 5 Beys may be registered/inspected for use in the tournament
Only 3 BEYS may be used during each match and must be selected before the match begins
Bladers may change BEYS after each battle, but no changing of parts between Beys once a match begins
All tournament battles must take place in the Beystadium which will be provided by the Tournament Organizer.
INSPECTION OF TOURNAMENT EQUIPMENT:
A Tournament Referee may inspect BEYS and launchers prior to each match. Upon request, a blader must disassemble his/her BEY and allow immediate inspection by the Tournament Referee. Refusal of inspection may result in immediate disqualification from the Tournament.
If a player is found to be using a BEY and/or launcher that violates these Official Rules, such player may be immediately disqualified from the Tournament.
TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION:
REGISTRATION. Upon arriving at the Tournament, each player must register with the Tournament Organizer and will be given instructions regarding competing in the Tournament. All players must be accompanied, at all times, by their parents or legal guardian.
CONSENT AND RELEASE FORM. Each player’s parent or legal guardian must complete a Tournament Consent and Release form prior to the player’s participation in the Tournament.
TOURNAMENT PLAY RULES:
A Battle will consist of two (2) bladers launching their BEYS into a provided Beystadium.
The winner of a match will be the first blader to reach three (3) points.The winner of the finals will be the first blader to reach five (5) points.
A Battle ends when:
One BEY stops spinning;
If a BEY is knocked into a pocket or out of the BEYS Beystadium, or
If a BEY bursts.
During each Battle, players must comply with the following:
BEYS must be launched immediately following the designated Tournament Referee’s signal of “3, 2, 1… Let it Rip”;
Bladers must launch their BEYS from the designated area;
Each Blader is entitled to their own half of the stadium during launch
Bladers will receive 1 warning if they are encroaching into the other Blader’s half
Any continued encroachment may result in the other Blader being awarded 2 points at the referee’s discretion
If a Blader makes contact with their opponent during launch as a result of encroaching into the opponent’s half of the stadium, at the referee’s discretion, the other Blader may be awarded 3 points and the match will be deemed over
Only one (1) launch is allowed by each player in each Battle;
Players cannot launch their BEYS from a standing, jumping or running position; and
After each Battle, players must refrain from touching their top until the Tournament Referee has announced the winner.
Bladers will be deemed to forfeit a Battle and the opponent will win one (1) point by default if any of the following occurs:
Such player is not present when the Battle begins;
Such player touches his or her opponent, spinning BEYS, or the Beystadium before the end of the Battle;
Such player receives two (2) warnings in a single Battle; or
Such player’s BEY launches outside the Beystadium.
BRACKET PLAY:
Based on the number of players entered in the Tournament, the Tournament Organizer will determine to use either an 8 player, 16 player or 32 player Tournament bracket, single elimination tournament with consolation bracket format.
A Tournament bracket, single elimination with consolation bracket elimination format will consist of head-to-head Battles. In a Round, the first player to score three (3) points wins. If a Round ends with a tie, additional Battles will be played until a Round is won. Players will use the same BEY in any additional Battles resulting from a tie.
Players that win their Round will advance to the next Round. Players that lose their Round will be eliminated from the Tournament. The winner of the final Round will be the Tournament winner.
SCORING:
For each Battle, scoring will be as follows:
Ring Out Finish: At the conclusion of the Battle, if a player’s BEY finishes outside of the ring or in one of the pockets of the Beystadium, the player’s opponent will be awarded one (1) point.
Survivor Finish: If a player’s BEY stops spinning before the other BEY, the player’s opponent will be awarded one (1) point.
Burst Finish: If a player’s BEY bursts into pieces during Battle, the player’s opponent will be awarded two (2) points.
If a players’ BEY enters a side pocket of the Beystadium without immediate escape (bounce back into battle), the blader’s opponent will be awarded one (1) point.
If the Tournament Referee determines that both BEY stopped spinning at the same time the Tournament Referee will declare the Battle a tie.
After to 2 consecutive ties, Bladers will be required to choose another BEY from their decks
